Of Mice and Men was written by John Steinbeck, and published in 1937. It takes place during The Great Depression, and tells the story of two migrant ranch workers living in California and pursuing the American Dream. George and Lennie (who suffers from mental retardation) travel together from job to job, and over the course of the story struggle to prosper at their newest job.
